Innovators & Entrepreneurs #HELPWANTED

Posted: April 13, 2016 in Uncategorized

I want to create a website with other people to compete with Facebook and be more socially progressive and less anti-social. The first mission of a better website will be connecting people in “real-life” through “real-connections” without invading their privacy or exploiting their freedom to control their socializing experience. To be free to connect in private in a way that stimulates the human communication experience. My website would not leave folks stranded in an internet netherworld but instead really focus on networking in an original dynamic fashion that is personal and less of a nationalized global political agenda or data collection scheme. Personality, expression, and personable bonding is our hierarchy. Even if we charged money to use this website it will be at the desire of users to participate and it will be both aesthetically pleasing & affectionately nurturing to human relationships. It will stimulate the economic growth of society from our common goals, utilized ideas, and incorporation of existing tools from around the internet especially through the use of blogs. This website will be underground but more sleek & tech savvy than craigslist as well as more safe and reliable than Facebook’s security & privacy.

The Anti-Social Network (Facebook)

If Facebook the website was more like it was in the past would it make people happier? I think Facebook started as a way for people in small communities to keep connected over large distances within their circle(s). Nowadays Facebook is nothing like what it used to be. Facebook owns Instagram. Both are international websites. Funny its hard to make friends with international people, because America is “not to be watched” and “we are not to associate with foreign countries” through interaction. Yet, Facebook is indeed very personal in the homefront as well. Its hard to even find your next door neighbor the girl next door on Facebook. You can no longer browse for friends. Searching for individuals is possible but browsing for friends based on your high school or college graduating class is no longer possible on the website as it is. Facebook privacy is geared towards micromanaging the different things you wish to hide from certain people and only share with a select crowd within your friends or to the public. This website is not designed very well and any web designer could tell you that. Its as if the stone age and a very anti-social future have collided and all you have is a weird tetris like game of spin the bottle meets, meet the spin room. Facebook does not facilitate dating, jobs, or local interaction. It is more likely that I will be exposed to hundreds of suggested friends that I have never met than to be suggested to people I would know based on my age, schools, location, and previous locations or jobs. In fact Facebook is more like an investigative tool than anything else from the eyes of “big brother” that is designed to pull information that isn’t really available to the open public unless you sit down and have a conversation asking direct questions to people. Facebook grooms social interaction with an algorhthym. This code has certain pretenses like consumerism, idealism, race, national security, and most importantly power to keep people under control by the government. This website makes people vulnerable by asking for their address, private life-events, phone number, credit card. The website associates you by your closest relationships with others and analyzes that data to see the different webs of interest that are common with each and every person you know and whom they know. Instant messaging on Facebook is a permanently accessible conversation that spans many years and many different private subjects with many different people all together linking each and every one of its users together. Once a conversation happens it stays there forever in your inbox and most people do not even know they have a separate inbox for non-friends that message them. Everyone on Facebook has pictures that are automatically analyzed by software to recognize and identify peoples faces and associate them with a profile and name. Facebook today is more of a communication and social global positioning system of calendar events, speech, and expression of images, sounds, videos, and real-time current events and locations of people’s private whereabouts and private lives. It is the primary form of communicating with co-workers, friends, and family. It is not really universal in the sense that it does not have one “modus operendus” or correct way of using this site as in the “always do’s and never do not’s”. Everyone uses this site differently for their own purpose, how they use it, and how the site uses them is very different from person to person. It seems as if life would not be possible to exist without Facebook. That is not true. In fact it is time for America to get off Facebook once and for all. It is time for not one or two or three websites to rule the world like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter. It is time for America to lose the website altogether. It is time for technology to make a clean quick jump into the rest of the 21st century. I intend to be a part of this jump into the future of innovation with my own company that will be one of many to begin to phase out social networking and create something better, something that doesn’t exist, something Steve Jobs wishes he thought of before Rich Brown. I want to make Bill Gates proud. I want the computer to be fun. I want life to be fun and computers to be merely just a tool like a hammer or screwgun that has less to do with making friends or living your life than a dishwasher or an air compressor does. I want people to be individuals. Facebook is not an individual. The website is a corporate entity and it is a fixture in your mental space and social world. It is a fixture that no longer is necessary. Facebook is more obsolete than a television with a cathode ray. The children of tomorrow are not going to lead healthy lives, and by living healthy lives they will not change the world and make it a better place, if they cannot live life to the fullest. In order to live life to the fullest you need to be in control of your own destiny. You need to unite with people, the same way they will unite with you, in protecting what is important to all human beings and has always been for centuries long before the internet even existed. Privacy, freedom of choice, and reliance on human beings; not reliance on machines. I sound like John Connor from Terminator but its very true. It is an inarguable fact that this website is destroying culture. I will try my best to create something that will be an extension of your life not an extension of your “Facebook”. Everyone we now know and love is merely an extension of our “Facebook” not our hearts & souls and country.

For Thanksgiving I would like the world to be less driven by greed & global corporate consumerism & industrialization. I want the urbanization of Rockland to slow down & the eco-footprint human’s leave on the food chain & biosphere to be healthier. I want the world to de-militarize starting with America & Americans to respect the lives of murdered innocent kids & teenagers & adolescents from lack of common sense gun safety. I want kids to be happy & learn about the natural world & natural history outside & be active in the community by speaking out. I would like for a libertarian style of governing to replace red vs. blue corruption stagnation & weakness in our role as a world leader. I am anti-conservatism & anti-liberalism; because I never made a decision based on approval rather than common sense which I believe all our issues are. I would really like our country to stop being so uptight & helpless. At the same time I would like our culture to stop embracing perverted ideologies & idolizing the most terribly disgusting human beings that we worship like regular down to earth over-achievers are not good enough. I really see a big gender warfare going on in society, I see racial myths being broken down & new ones being established. All in all I see more or less of the same story everyday and there’s no spark, creativity, originality, romance, and we are not embracing human character or accomplishments instead the only thing we have embraced in the past 5 years is America’s alternative sexuality in the niche subversive outskirts of pop-culture and turned it into our national philosophy. We have no personification of our nations troubles & triumphs because expression is stifled by the over concentration of sex in the entertainment industry and the diluting of talents & messages for a mass audience that stimulates the sex organs but not the heart & soul. Symbolization of our lost identity in America can be seen in the lack of bonding between peers, the rise of introversion & insecurity, a lack of morals & values at all ages, a conflict with three major religions, a doomsday philosophy, and economic collapse around the world. Everyone that’s a real man in this world knows if you’re not getting paid you are not getting laid unless you are dirt poor & you have 8 kids because you just like having babies therefore leading to over-population & more consumption of just about everything from air to water to food to land to resources. That’s what we do not have is a bailout of resources or a new watering hole & atmosphere.

Reflections @Geneseo

I’m visiting the college and realizing how much the world & the college has changed in 10 years. Is it exclusively the world or exclusively the college? I think that technology is the driving factor but what’s surprising is not how the technology has changed because we are not quite at the level of Star Trek but how much the people have changed because of it. Are we as humans socially less better off as mammals in a natural world due to our mental reliance & devotion to technology in our relation to one another? I remember as a freshman thinking about my father who graduated in the 70s and Geneseo was a place I hoped to really expose the elements of the past still lingering. Now we historically chronicle everything digitally to the point we have more information than we really find the necessity to make good use of. I think about the 50 years of history or my favorite part the 60s & 70s maybe the 80s that came before me & it’s hard to find any relevance aside from pop culture in the history & way of life that seems so close in time but so disconnected from the present. I often get sad when I think of ancient history & centuries & decades of time that seems thanks to technology quite meaningless to society as a whole. There are surely links to the past in foreign policy, geography, and the arts. I think to be honest that people in the world today do not live in a world connected to the past. As if the dinosaurs were not connected to human history so it is also true to me that human history is not connected to the modern digital age where being human is futile, minuscule, and hardly enough to be given infinite life inside a computer network. Maybe these all depend on humans now but maybe we don’t really depend on technology as much as we think. Maybe we only need air, water, food, shelter, and man & woman together. Before we become something less human than we are now we should become more like the animals we have always been.

Human SEXuality vs. LGBTQ

Posted: April 13, 2016 in Uncategorized

When you really STOP & THINK about human sexuality from an analytical perspective in the 21st century, we can’t escape the overwhelming attention focused on “same” sexuality. However has anyone asked what percentage of the human race exhibits these traits & its effect on contemporary sociology. First my main driving point of this post is the unlimited amount of existing knowledge into “real” human sexuality which is about opposites attracting. I must say that maybe because I’m mature at 27 or maybe because our focus is so hyper-sensitive to a realm of sameness & mixed sexual identities that everyone is missing the greatest truth of this experiment. That truth is how amazingly obvious it is to study opposite sex behavior, psychology, emotion, attraction, rejection. Friends are friends, lovers are like matches not always made in heaven. Men & Women hunt in packs for mates and often I find this behavior comical & full of awkward deterrences to successful courtship and rejection. A prime trend is people like to give their future lovers the respect of friendship & trust before moving to an established “romantic” relationship and a positive & negative attract creating a charge that builds inertia between unsuspecting partners. #Sex

An open letter to…

Posted: April 13, 2016 in Uncategorized

If you’re reading this letter it is because you are trying to learn something we both know is true. Much of my creative material is used by others of an anonymous group or person to their own advantage. Whether it is expressive material, my likeness-character, or intellectual property. Privacy is a respect issue and the arts & music are not bound to privacy anymore than Napster can be held liable for mp3 sharing. People get inspired, motivated, and improve upon other peoples work all the time. It is somewhat a slap in the face when people use your creativity for their own monetary gain but don’t show respect, acknowledgment, or give either tribute or credit to where that came from originally even if its only partially borrowed or partially re-inspired by myself, Richard Brown.

Another thing I would like to address is control. I am totally aware of how control of information vs. the freedom of information affects my daily life and implicates me in 3rd party sharing. I have only had problems with my personal material & property being directly stolen, damaged, or violated in such a way that actually affects me personally in very few & seldom occassions in the past decade. I cannot prove beyond a shadow of a doubt that such infringments are always genuine but I am perfectly aware of the dozens upon dozens of instances in which my artistic creativity has been used to the benefit of someone other than myself.

Lastly, the control factor in which prohibiting restrictions have been placed against me in the more recent present is not a mystery that went unnoticed by myself in regards to what sources of information and connections have been blocked from my access. I am able to sense when certain invisible barriers are present and I am capable of reeling in the freedom of social networking and self-education when those, subtle yet recognizable, and “neither confirmed nor denied” penalizations, restrictions, prohibitions are dismissed & revoked finally giving great breaths of new capability and awareness in their wake. I prefer them not present and liberty to communicate unrestricted; right to free speech granted. I like being able to have freedom of information myself most of all.

Thank you to whom it might concern,

– Richard Brown
